Strawberries: nutritional strategies for the success of new autumn plantings
Between August and September, in some suitable areas, new orchards are prepared for the next strawberry harvest.
To promote sweet, good-sized fruit, without neglecting shelf life, it's advisable to apply pre-transplant fertilization to restore soil fertility and plan post-transplant treatments to encourage seedling establishment.
Healthy roots and vegetative-productive balance.
Nitrogen promotes vegetation development and the formation of reserves within the plant, but should be administered sparingly. Phosphorus and potassium play a key role in strengthening the root system, photosynthetic efficiency, and preparing the crop for the autumn season. Phosphorus is a crucial element in the early stages of new plantings.
Calcium, magnesium, and microelements such as iron and boron are also essential for maintaining photosynthesis and ensuring balanced plant development. Particular attention should be paid to salinity, as strawberries are highly sensitive to salt buildup in the soil and irrigation water.
Regular and well-balanced fertigation in autumn allows for vigorous plants capable of achieving their maximum production potential.
To support the plant in this phase we recommend:
- Vinfrutto (400-500 Kg/ha) before transplant
- Super Power Humic (40-50 Kg/ha) at transplant
- HydroStar BTC (15 Kg/ha) + Giove Bio Gold (5 Kg/ha) after transplant
